Providing Everything You Need
Stroke / Brain injury / Neurological
I work with you to understand the nature of your condition and what challenges you may be experiencing in terms of engaging in your chosen occupations (self-care, vocational &/or leisure). Together we can then plan how to either improve motor, sensory, cognitive or psychological challenges, or put together a strategy that will reduce their impact by compensating. We can work on learning new skills or re-establishing old habits, and ultimately work towards gaining maximum independence and a new normal.
Vocational Rehabilitation
I support workers and employers to navigate return to work after an illness or injury. Retaining existing employment is beneficial for both the employee and the employer when this is achievable. This is often possible through sharing knowledge about a condition, and some simple adjustments to the environment, task or role.
Neurodiversity
Working with adults with various conditions under the 'Neurodiverse Umbrella', including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD, ADHD, is an exciting new area for me. What qualifies me to support individuals this area is both professional and personal. My lived experience, having ADHD myself, and an Autistic husband, has helped me realise the cross over between how I work with individuals with neurological conditions and some of the challenges of living in a world set up for the 'Neurotypical' brain when you are neurodiverse. Helping others to navigate the cognitive, social, emotional and sensory challenges that may occur, is something I am passionate about.
