What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy helps you live your best life at home, at work – and everywhere else. It’s about being able to do the things you want and have to do. That could mean helping you overcome challenges learning at school, going to work, playing sport or simply doing the dishes. Everything is focused on increasing independence and wellbeing.

About me

I have 14 years' experience working as a Neuro Occupational Therapist, with 8 years working in roles as a Clinical Specialist and/or Team lead in Neurotherapy services. My knowledge and experience of neurological conditions, and my holistic assessment of each person I work with, helps to create a person-centred and effective approach to recovery or condition management. Attention to detail enables me to bring together the essential elements of the task, the environment, the individual and their goals in order to promote success.

Forming a rapport and an effective working relationship with each individual is key. I will always get to know what motivates and makes sense to my clients. This then enables maximum engagement and buy-in, and ultimately more success in working towards goals.

As an independent practitioner, I am pleased to be able to focus on my Continued Professional Development. Part of my business model is to continue to undertake training, networking and keeping up-to-date with developments in research. This ensures I continue to work in line with the latest evidence base.

For the comfort of patients that are vulnerable, I can disclose I am fully vaccinated.
